Many people who join Internet dating sites are looking for Mr. or Ms. Right. But others are just looking for Mr/Ms. Right Now. That's where adult dating sites come into play. And, based on the huge number of members, there's definitely a market for the service.
When your goal is to hook up with someone for short-term sex, or just better sex, an adult site is the place to go. They still provide all the advantages of an online dating service: safety, anonymity, matching. And, they provide one more: they zero in on just those who are looking for the same thing any other member is looking for.
Emulating the personals ads or special-purpose newspapers of the past, these sites provide listing after listing of potential partners.
Photos are a must at Adult personals sites. Some people don't want to provide one, wanting to retain complete anonymity or because of uncertainty over their ability to compete in the looks department. Get over it. Without one, you'll never get a date. With one you at least have a chance. And you'll see that many do provide photos, some of which don't resemble a movie star.
But that very wealth of possibilities can become a limitation. Adult Personals sites are notorious for attracting huge numbers of bogus members. Photos are posted with invented profiles in order to attract visitors to porn sites and 'adult' related products.

Swinger sites take the idea of an adult site one step further. Primarily populated by couples or those looking for group, swap or same-gender hook-ups, these offer a more specialized audience.
Swinger sites were originally intended to offer couples, usually married couples, a way to put some variety into their sex lives by swapping partners. The audience soon expanded. Couples looking to add one partner for lesbian or gay sex, or for a three-way, quickly became common.
Meet-ups used to be arranged at a safe, low stress environment. Couples spent some time talking, then made a decision about whether to take things one step further. With contemporary technology - such as online video, web cams and so forth - the initial meetings are now often 'virtual'.
But many of the same cautions apply. Get to know those you are about to meet. Exchange enough emails or chat messages to ferret out any inconsistencies in someone's story. Use a phone that can't be traced back to your address, and never give out your workplace or home address. Make sure that first meeting takes place somewhere you feel comfortable and can easily walk away from.
If you're looking for an adventure, that's great. Just make sure the adventure doesn't become something out of a TV crime show.
